What is Asthma?

According to the American Lung Association, asthma is a “lung disease that makes breathing difficult in millions of Americans, both young and old.” Over 26 million Americans currently have the illness, including over 7 million children. Symptoms of this illness include wheezing, frequent cough, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. Although asthma is treatable with medications such as fluticasone and budesonide, there is still no cure.

Types of Asthma Studies

We conduct asthma research studies for pediatrics, adolescents, and adults suffering from asthma of all severities.

We are currently enrolling for our TEVA Childhood Asthma Study, which is researching an investigational medication to find the best dosing levels for kids with persistent asthma. Click here to learn more and see if your child qualifies to participate!

Information on Clinical Trials

Clinical research studies are sponsored by both government agencies and private organizations and are conducted in order to find the best way to treat diseases. Pharmaceutical companies work with medical centers, doctors’ offices, and government-sponsored studies to evaluate products. Headed by Dr. Isaac Melamed, a research team consisting of doctors, physician assistants, and coordinators runs the various clinical studies here at IMMUNOe. Each trial has different requirements pertaining to the participants. These can include specific age groups, relevant history of the disease being studied, and participants’ personal medical histories.
