What are warning signs of Primary Immunodeficiency (PIDD)?
How many infections is too many?
“Immune system defects can present themselves in many ways. Evaluation by an Immunologist is advised if infections are frequent or complicated. Warning signs include 2 or more serious bacterial infections in one year or any complicated infections that have required hospitalization or intravenous (IV) antibiotics. Also, if you have a family history of PIDD, evaluation is recommended. An Immunologist can help identify any dysfunction in your immune system that may lead to chronic infections or unexplained inflammation.” – Dr. Edan Sarid
